Women’s Initiative is the premiere women’s leadership and philanthropy group in central Massachusetts.

We build, strengthen, and support the development of healthy, confident, and safe adolescent girls.

We empower girls through mentoring, educational opportunities, and financial literacy.

We create positive change for women and children in our community.

Creating Positive Impact in the Community

Community Impact is improving people’s lives by bringing together local resources in order to create positive and lasting changes and measurable results in existing social conditions.

Identifying the Needs

In order to create the greatest positive change, we first identified the most immediate problems we face. We then worked with volunteers and leaders to generate solutions to the most pressing needs and the most critical issues facing the Central Massachusetts community.

We’ve learned that our community is in a cyclical pattern, where children in need grow up to become adults in need. By focusing on the root causes and needs of our children and youth, we are able to create measurable results that are changing the future of our community.

Community Education


The Women’s Initiative host several community education events each year, with a focus on raising public awareness of the issues facing girls, as well as providing opportunities for members to learn more about women’s leadership and philanthropy. Visit our events page for dates.

Funding Programs


More than $3 million dollars has been raised in ten years, allowing the Women’s Initiative to award sponsorships and grants to local programs focused on building, strengthening, and supporting the development of healthy, confident and safe girls.

Volunteer Mentors Needed!

Mentors from all professional backgrounds needed. Women who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of girls today, while building a bright future for tomorrow, are encouraged to sign up. No special skills necessary and training will be provided.

Twice a year, Women’s Initiative holds Dollar Scholar Financial Literacy Conferences for 8th grade girls in central Massachusetts. Volunteer as a Mentor for Women’s Initiative Dollar $cholar Conferences and discover how one day will change your life forever!
